Manufacturing Contract to Community Work Services, Boston

LAST® Armor, a division of Foster Miller of Waltham, MA recently
awarded a light manufacturing contract to Community Work Services
of Boston to prepare ceramic tiles used as protection for light
armored personnel carriers. The award is noteworthy both for its
unique product and the unique workforce building the tiles.
Community Work Services, a premier non-profit serving those with
barriers to work was selected because of their skilled, dedicated
workforce backed by a rigorous quality control program that allows
the team to meet high, demanding military standards for
excellence. Serena Powell, CWS Executive Director has proven that

LAST® Armor, makes a unique armor appliqué system for light
armored personnel carriers that installs without any cutting,
welding or drilling onto the vehicle. This unique appliqué gives
the vehicles critical additional protection and can be installed
in the field by the vehicle crew itself. Community Work Services
applies a “tile” to the LAST® Armor appliqué that provides the
strength and protection of the appliqué.
