CWS currently has openings for the following staff positions:
Intake, Outreach and Eligibility Case Manager: Community Work Services, a nonprofit organization with a mission to promote independence through employment for individuals with life challenges, is seeking an Intake, Outreach and Eligibility Case Manager.
Position has responsibility in the following areas: 1. Conduct outreach activities to engage new referrals sources and participants. 2. Conduct tours of CWS for interested potential participants as well as referral sources. 3. Establish new recruitment networks. 4. Responds to inquiries regarding training programs. 5. Gather all applicable information for review and follow up by the respective program staff or determine requirements for assessment and training services (Workforce Development Programs). 6. Perform intake and assessment services for individuals; determine readiness for CWS job training programs 7. Develop individual service plans based on participant input, interests and needs. 8. Maintains participant records and completes required documentation and reporting including CWS database input. 9. Provide orientation to new program participants including review of participant handbook and agency policies. 10. Coordinate participant’s participation in CWS programs including assisting Job Placement Specialist with placement services. 11. Network with other providers to generate community resources for participants. 12. Assist participants with researching and accessing needed services including additional job training, educational supports, counseling, housing, medical services and others. 13. Determine individual’s need for support funds/ gift certificates; help them investigate and exhaust other options before requesting funds 14. Perform job coaching and follow up retention services for participants working competitively 15. Prepare monthly reports to supervisors and/or funding agencies as needed. 16. Participates in agency and team meetings and functions. 17. Achieve agency, departmental, and individual goals.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field required, at least one year of experience preferred
Placement Specialist: Community Work Services, a nonprofit organization with a mission to promote independence through employment for individuals with life challenges, is seeking Placement Specialist to work within a team structure to achieve overall goals within the Workforce Development framework. To include develop a sufficient number of subsidized and unsubsidized jobs to satisfy participant need. Provide employability and work readiness activities. Secure internships for older participants.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop and maintain a pool of subsidized and unsubsidized jobs, including part-time positions, weekend assignments, and full-time summer jobs 2. Design, coordinate and conduct Employability Skills and Work Readiness services 3. Establish a rapport with program participants. Help them adjust to their job placements. 4. Monitor all internships and work sites. Make visits to establish good working relationships with participating work site supervisors. Ensure that work sponsors are providing adequate on-the-job supervision for participants. 5. Bring any special on-the-job personal problems to the attention of work site supervisors and career/education counselors 6. Assist in matching participants to appropriate jobs. 7. Assist in the coordination and implementation of referring agency 8. Develop alternative educational and career-oriented experiences for participants for whom employment is not yet appropriate 9. Assist career/education counselors with participant recruitment efforts 10. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree OR Bachelor’s Degree in related field. Experience in marketing/ sales may be substituted for two years of education. Bilingual an asset.
