Community Work Services can point with pride to
any number of program participants who have benefited from both
the help and guidance they’ve received from CWS and from their own
willfulness and determination to create successful lives. We are
delighted to share some of their stories with you.

Ann Marie Gordon was referred to Community Work Services in
November of 2005 by the Massachusetts Rehabilitation
Commission. Once at CWS, she quickly set the goal of attaining
a permanent part-time job in the food service industry. To
help reach that goal, Ann Marie participated in a wide rage of
services offered at CWS. |

Ann Marie worked towards her goal by participating in hands-on
training in the CWS Food Service Program. Proving herself to
be a great worker, once her training was complete, CWS then
assisted her with getting an internship in the cafeteria at
Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. While there, Ann Marie
continued learning about the expectations of a food service
environment. Following her experience at Spaulding, she then
participated in another internship at Quiznos to learn even
more about the food service industry. Throughout her training,
Ann Marie was also quite diligent about her job search and
participated in workshops at CWS on topics such as Resume
Writing, Customer Service and Interviewing Skills.
In November 2006, all of Ann Marie’s hard work and effort paid
off. She was offered a part-time Food Service Worker position
at the Shattuck Hospital in Jamaica Plain, MA. She recently
received an outstanding job performance evaluation. Thrilled
with her dream job, Ann Marie has proven what can happen when
someone stays focused on her goals. |
